Severn Freewheelers is a remarkable charity organization that provides an essential service to the NHS by delivering blood, human tissue, and other critical medical items between healthcare facilities across Gloucestershire, Herefordshire, North Wiltshire, and Worcestershire. Operating out of hours from 7pm to 7am on weekdays, and 24 hours on weekends and public holidays, this group of advanced motorcyclists, known as Blood Bikers, are all volunteers who have undergone specialized training to handle medical essentials safely. With an impressive average of over 20 jobs per day, the Severn Freewheelers are a testament to the spirit of volunteerism and the critical support they provide to the NHS, completely free of charge.
